Z Pérez Azérad first developed a love for filmmaking and photography in 2019 when he started photographing people's sneakers while on vacation. This interest in street fashion drew Z into the world and art form of street photography. Since then, he has brought his camera everywhere he goes to capture human experiences and emotions in urban and crowded environments.

Z started experimenting with filmmaking during the COVID-19 pandemic's quarantine. Through this experimentation, he made his first timelapse in April 2020. It was then that Z fell in love with the timelapse art style, and soon, he began waking up every morning to capture the sunrise. Every day after virtual school, he would set up his camera to film the sunset. For 418 days, Z would film, edit, and post to YouTube 2 timelapse videos of the sunrise and sunset, eventually posting timelapses that lasted the entire day.

Since his start in filmmaking, Z has served as a Writer, Director, Actor, Director of Photography, Boom Operator, and Editor for numerous personal and collaborative projects both in and outside of school.
